hey everybody. i was looking at buying the revolution and saw that the mobius is ending production, and you can pick it up for like 400 bucks. anybody have any opinions on it? is it worth 400 dollars if i have no CV/gate controlled synths (yet) and use a computer for sequencing? is it handy for coming up with sequences you wouldn't normally think of on a computer?

WOW! that's total bullshit. if i had a blog i'd blog about that and call them out on bad business practices. what a douchebag. i bought 2 things form big city and always had good service but never had a problem.

hopefully jered is willing to fix it ..."

i would relay the entire story to jered. tell him you bought it and it has something rattling around in it and they said "tough shit talk to jered."

fucking wankers those guys. damn. you'd think they'd take it back then send you a new one and send the one w/the rattle back to jered.

i bought a nord form novamusik and it showed up w/some rattles and all kinds of noise and buzz on the output. i called nova they sent me a return auth and sent me new nord rapidly. that's how it should be done.. not this pass the buck crap you're getting from big city music.

ack.. pisses me off.

top 3 retailers for synths:

novamusik
analogue haven
audiomidi

Not to take it too far off topic... but I wanted to put in a quick +1 for NovaMusik. They have always shipped stuff really fast and they even let me return a MIDI controller (that was in perfect working order) when I just didn't like it.

I hope someone helps you out, elron!

so, did this get sorted yet? i'm curious as to the outcome. i still think bigcity dropped the ball and now they are forever off my list of retailers.

well, ive been in an ongoing convo with jered at future retro about what it could possibly be. he's actually a very nice dude. im not sending it in, as i finally just got fed up and opened the damn thing. it was a screw.

but the thing is, jered told me that all screws inside the box would also be attached to a nut, and there's no loose nut. I also cannot find an empty screw hole anywhere, so the only thing i can think of is that a screw was dropped in the box when he was making it.

but yes, bigcitymusic has definitely screwed me i feel (no pun intended). instead of getting to rock out i had to sit and troubleshoot a brand new piece of gear. not a happy customer.
