Um, I posted on here a while back to see if anynoe knew of a 4 track mp3 player that could playback the four tracks through four separate outs - up to 1 hour long / sync'd. It drew a blank...so i did some thinking. Has some mad ideas about putting 2 or 4 mp3 players together and wiring the play buttons together - hoping they stay in sync....haha!

Anyway, as a bit of a hacker, I suddenly thought that if I got a 4 track player with the right capacity etc...presumably I could open it up and mod where the faders / track outs go to...making it 4 outs, instead of it wiring to a stereo out.

Am I talking bollocks or would this be possible?

cheers, sam.

creative nomad jukebox 3.

I own one, and it worked great for me until the hard drive became damaged, but it's a hard drive, that'll happen.

I never got into the 4 channel playback, but it definitely supports it. there's a pair of stereo miniplug outs. i'm not sure what format you would have to put your tracks in... some kind of 4.0 surround format or something.

it also supports wav recording up to 48khz and has an optical in for digital recording. it works pretty good as a portable dat, but you have to deal with all the mic gear separately (phantom power/preamp). the analog ins aren't fantastic, but they're usable.

they're cheap! i got mine for $100. they were never popular because they've got all these crazy features that the average person just isn't going to use. i think they're over 5 years old now.

hey eyesnine!

wow - i don't need any of the other features really (as i have two decent mp3 players already) but i am excited if it can do four channel output...amazed too...will check them out - thanks
