of all the pad things i've paddled, the korg feels the best. very responsive, although i find myself not using it very often. atfer the novelty i just go back to programming the drums with a mouse, but i was never a good drummer to begin with so ymmv.

hmmm. this is what I've been planning to get, too. i wonder if I'd ever use it, too. i really wante a monome, but i am not select or few.

PadKontrol has more uses with the software those guys have. Pretty cool shit.

i like the padkontrol alot.
but the fact that you can't use the buttons in an on/off toggle mode with lights indicating the state - without using additional software - is a big letdown.
what where they thinkng??
the pads feel great tho, imo.

i have a padKontrol and i love it
IMO it's got the best pads i've used

I have the trigger finger and padKontrol. I use trigger for live because 1) i don't care if it gets dirty 2) It has a mic stand screw-in hole on the bottom so it can stand freely without a table. The padKontrol is in my studio and it's certainly the hot pimp daddy of the two. It's pads are wonderfully responsive and the X-Y pad is a perfect match for Live's standard X-Y window.

google around
there are programs to do this

the padKontrol is really great. i love the x/y pad too. lots of fun.
I like mine too. It's a very versatile controller for everything from note entry (classic drum pads) to cc's to button toggles. One thing that's missing for me is after-touch sensitivity on the pads. But that's a minor issue.

Search padkontrol on youtube for some excellent tutorials and cool uses.

its great - assignment options are very good.

...Except the bottom 2left pads on mine has become kind of sensitive/occasionally holds after letting go... I think it might just be the physical placement of the button or something stuck in there, but one of the screws has been stripped so I cant get the case open. . . leaving me with a 14 pad controller (still great btw.)

It has a very light touch compared to some other pad controllers. - I remember hearing because it actually uses some kind of mic setup rather than pressure sensing? I dunno if that is true.. But i much prefer it to my axiom's pads, or MPC pads, which you really have to BANG to register a response

I heard its because the sensors beneath the pads are square, or else there are 4 of them beneath each pad.
triggerfinger has one per pad, sensors were round

i got one with a broken knob you can have if you pay shipping.

I've got a weird pad too, the bottom right one triggers randomly (not in a good way)
Too bad the rotaries have limited resolution, their controller funcationality is pretty limited by this strange 'feature'.

Other than that it's pretty good - the kids love the lights

I've got a pad set on my microkontrol I hardly ever use them for drumming in beats instead use them for triggering loops in Live they are invaluable for that.
