What new features would you like to see on em411?
what i would like most is to know how many plays each release gets.
(also to show the time length of each release)
these things will probably never happen, so use your imagination!

lol

i'd like to see the forums not get erased all the time

I'd like to see a gallery function, where we could post pictures relevant to tutorials on em411 etc.

for example - an illustrated tutorial on how to cover astroid with peanut butter.

avatars. ffs.

I would like to see the return of studios, also like skab said a tutorial section and last but not least a em411 hall of fame with some favourites musics

different color schemes (themes)

more posting options for the forums including code to help embed youtube videos..

yeah, thats a cool idea. or maybe have a "click if you liked this release" button, like we have for blogs, and show number of likes on the main page. and if the likes get over a certain number you get signed by rephlex and move to hollywood and star in movies opposite will smith, or you get a gold star sticker mailed to your house for you to stick on your forehead, or something to that effect.

permanent forums would be a big plus. thats why blogs are better for stuff you want to keep, though. you could cut and paste into a blog, if you felt it was worth it.

as for pure speculation...

maybe a labels section would be cool, where em labels could have an em411 presence, to showcase their em411 artists, and non em411 artists by creating emIDs for all of them, and have demo releases like just song fragments, or a single song off an album or something, and become more involved in fostering and uncovering new talent. maybe they could accept popular songs from the release section as demos. it would attract more users, i think, and would be good for labels as a promotion method, and as a distribution method for netlabels looking to attract more users to their sites. i don't know how many labels would be interested in maintaining an em411 labelID, i think there would be a few though. this is possibly the best em community out there. it would take some resources to develop, and the labels would probably have to be involved in the cost of development to make it feasible. and who would coordinate an effort like that?

the site is fairly comprehensive as it is. i'm happy so long as good people are posting (and they are). i guess people made a big deal about the ads before, but i could actually stand a little more, so long as the sponsors are em related, not casinos or pron or anything. i think its awesome that we have an ableton ad on the main page, what a great company to be working with.

we should try to get cycling 74 and native instruments and steinberg and korg and whoever ads. i think its cool, plus we'd know about their new products right away.
wow, that post turned out to be much longer than i anticipated.

there should also be the opposite, where you get slowly injected with different viruses and finally thrown into a pit filled with poisonous centipedes.

yeah, a dislike button would be awesome! for blogs too! why the hell not? sometimes you've just gotta get your hate on for someone. maybe keep it anonymous though... could get ugly.

yea FFS no forum deleting.. oh how much knowledge is gone now..

the return of the "patches" section!!!!111!!11

a "dislike" button would be awesome indeed.
doesn't necesserily have to be anonymous. i want to know who hates me and and i want to know people that i hate them!

p.s.: i love you

yeah, I think a hate button would be only awesome if NOT anonymous, but then the site would be even more over-run with alter-egos.
